Very mechanical. Very unlike Segovia. There are no barlines in the original.manuscript, which suggests using rubato. Toward the end it improves but the first part is very disappointing. But then a guitarist playing lute music loses so much.

I saw Pepe play with the Boulder philharmonic orchestra years ago. Many of the orchestra members just stopped playing in astonishment with their mouths gaping open. What the Hell was he doing? I spent a good part of the evening in tears that one man could have that much talent. I’ll remember it the rest of my life! Bravo doesn’t cover it …

I don't care for this interpretation. But it is interesting to listen to because it's easy to hear the note relationships through the peice. I can't fault anyone who likes it. My favorite interpretation is Söllscher, but his tempo on the Dance (2nd part) is also wrong technically. But beautiful to my ears.

One of the best performances of this piece I have ever heard. It’s funny, after all these years I have never heard this recording of Chris Parkening playing this piece in particular. Very well done, I can hear the Segovia influence throughout. Great chord vibrato and dynamics. He really owns it here.
